Our Health
Our first "CHCS Biggest Winner" program began in mid-January 2008! The idea was met with much enthusiasm after many of us over-indulged throughout the holiday season!
The program will conclude near the end of the school year (each campus has different beginning and ending dates), and the overall "Biggest Winners" for the North and Green campuses will then be announced.
Since the onset of the program, there has been a weekly weigh-in day at each school. Our participants actual weight remains confidential -- we are tracking the percentage of weight lost from one week to the next.
This program is intended to provide helpful guidelines as we learn about becoming more fit. It is not as structured or intense as the TV version. It is, however, geared toward helping those interested in joining us on a journey toward fitness and better health.
Many of us have watched the contestants on the TV show "The Biggest Loser". We've seen their amazing transformations over the weeks of determination and hard work. Their stories are truly inspiring. Each person on that show had come to a point in their lives where they knew that something had to change. A life-defining moment.

Cub Scout Pack 3181 Pinewood Derby
Pinewood Derby is a chance for Scouts to learn about participating, trying hard, winning, loosing, learning, experimenting, playing, and celebrating. It's a chance for dads and moms to demonstrate mentoring skills and patience, to understand motivations and needs, and to participate in development of manual skills, social skills, and sportsmanship. Don't overlook the opportunity to provide shared experiences with other dads, moms, and scouts during the designing, building, and testing stages of pre-race preparations. There can be a lot of satisfaction from teamwork as well as from individual work.
Handbells & Ensemble

Johnny Appleseed Day
Each year the students at the North campus of Chapel Hill Christian School observe Johnny Appleseed Day. This year, Mrs. Hopkin's first grade class learned about the contributions Johnny Appleseed made to Ohio. They also made caramel apples, apple prints, pot hats to wear and went on an apple scavenger hunt. Two older students, Jordan (6th grade) and Mackenzie Wear (3rd grade) acted out the story and life of Johnny Appleseed, complete with costumes, as well as teaching some songs that Johnny sang throughout his life.

Global Warming Solutions
The children of our country may be the generation most impacted by the effects of global warming. TCP, a leading manufacturer in energy efficient lighting, is launching a nationwide program to spark interest and ignite ideas in the minds of children on possible solutions to the issue of global warming. TCP was recently at the Green campus of Chapel Hill Christian School to present Bright Town the Search for Inky. The program consisted of a 3-D cartoon assembly, a fundraiser, and so much more! TC and his sidekick Watts-on came to life in this educational assembly, where the students became aware of the rising problem and what THEY can do to fix it. With a 3-D cartoon, lightshow, music, and so much more, the students were entertained and educated by the energy and action that took place during this dynamic performance.

The fifth and sixth grade students at Chapel Hill Christian School gathered on Wednesday, September 26 for "See You At the Pole", a day nationally observed by schools throughout the U.S. This time was set aside to pray for many things, including our country, all levels of our government, those serving in the military, as well as school and family matters.
Grandparents
The Preschool class at Chapel Hill Christian School recently held a program in honor of Grandparents. Grandparents enjoyed a program featuring their grandchildren, followed by being able to share some time with them. The 3-year-old Preschool is a new class at CHCS this year, and teachers have many creative methods for teaching these little ones.
