Mrs. Mary Ann Key

Grade: 5th Grade
Email: Mrs. Mary Ann Key

My name is Mary Ann Key and I have been teaching at CHCS since 1980. Reading and challenging students are my passions in teaching. I did my undergraduate studies at Taylor University in Indiana and my masters in reading supervision at the University of Akron. I have taught in public schools, kindergarten through 8th grade, during my previous years of teaching.

I enjoy seeing my students succeed in areas they thought they couldn't master. I hope I can always instill a love and enjoyment of learning and reading as well as developing strategies and skills for a life of service to God.

What's Special About This Grade?

One of the main goals of fifth grade is to teach independence in their researching and study skills. Fifth graders are learning to express their ideas in writing both in poetry and in reactions to their readings. I love reading their works. They have some great insights.
