My name is Marilyn Owen and I teach fifth grade. I began teaching at Chapel Hill in 2004 and I love my students and delight in every day at school. Before coming to Chapel Hill I taught at a Christian School in Virginia for nine years, was a substitute teacher in local public schools and home schooled my two sons. I have a Master's Degree in education from Western Connecticut State University. My husband is a pastor in Akron. My older son, Timothy, works at our church and volunteers here at Chapel Hill. Jonathan, my younger son, is a youth pastor in Birmingham, Alabama.

We will work to accomplish the objectives for fifth grade prescribed by the State of Ohio while learning to see the world from God's perspective using the Bible as our guide.

My goal is to provide for my students' needs with a spirit of encouragement, guiding them through truth while protecting them from error, honoring them for their achievement while unconditionally loving them.
