My name is Diana Juchnowski. I began teaching here as the Art instructor in 1995. I received my bachelor¹s degree in elementary education from Muskingum College in 1981 and am certified in Art, Kindergarten and Learning Disabilities. I enjoy working with all of the grade levels in the school.

The Art program is designed to grow and build as the children grow developmentally with each year. In the preschool classes, we emphasize experimentation with a variety of art materials through the use of fingerplays, stories, songs, and meaningful discussions as we observe that God is an artist. In the lower elementary grades, students learn art principles and vocabulary through exposure to a variety of media, such as drawing, painting, construction, and clay. In the upper grades, emphasis shifts as the fine arts are explored and students are introduced to the styles of work of famous artists throughout history. In all of my classes, students are encouraged to think creatively, develop their skills, and to use their imagination in a positive way that glorifies God.

Our students also participate in poster contests, art competition, student exhibitions, and trips to the art museum to round out their art experience here.
